- ➤ Winco Foods purchased nearly 10 acres along Harrison Ave at the north end of Butte Plaza Mall, state records show. The developer said a large grocery store will be built in the new year. KXLF
- ➤ WinCo Foods is nearing final approval to open a new grocery store in Butte (pending regulatory review) that will provide locals a fresh grocery option soon. The Montana Standard
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ After the holidays, flu season is heating up as Montana records over 2,000 cases & 78 hospitalizations, prompting health officials to urge residents, especially older adults, to get vaccinated and follow simple precautions. KXTL
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ WinCo Foods bought a 9.5-acre site at Butte Plaza Mall off Harrison Avenue and will build the largest grocery store in the area sometime in 2026. The redevelopment + demolition of a former store is expected to draw shoppers from across the region. KXLF
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ East Middle School will host its 12th Annual Lil Dribblers Basketball League this Saturday with free sessions for Butte children from newborn to seven. The open-gym event runs every Saturday from Jan. 3 through March 28 at the school gym (2600 Grand Avenue) and is supported by local sponsors. KXTL
