- ➤ Atlantic Richfield announced it will for now exclude the Berkeley Pit and Kelley Mine Area sites — opting for the Butte Mine Waste Repository for handling Superfund wastes. The Montana Standard
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents can dispose of natural Christmas trees at no charge until Jan. 31 at three approved drop-off sites: the corner of Platinum Street and Excelsior Avenue, the intersection of Sampson and Utah near Stodden Park, and the High Altitude Skating Center lot. Trees must be free of decorations. KXTL

- ➤ Nominations for the Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026 are open until Wed, Dec. 31 for athletes, coaches, and contributors; a 6 p.m. public forum on Monday, Jan. 26 at the McQueen Club will allow brief presentations, and inductees will be honored this July at the Civic Center. KXTL
