- ➤ Families in Butte can meet Santa today from noon to 3 p.m. at Rocky Mountain RV at 5001 Harrison Ave—offering free toys and hot chocolate with a $20 gift for a toy donation—and at Stodden Park’s Spirit of Columbia Gardens Carousel where rides and snacks are available. KXTL
- ➤ Bill Melvin (GM of the Butte Civic Center) was honored as a local hero for his dedicated service. He said Butte has given him a good living and helped him raise his family. The Montana Standard

- ➤ The (upcoming) winter concert at Butte High will feature seasonal selections from the school’s bands, orchestra and choirs. It will take place soon at the school to welcome local music lovers to a festive evening. The Montana Standard

- ➤ A recent study by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics showed Montana’s wages dipped by -0.06% from 2024 to 2025 while states like Nevada and Virginia enjoyed strong increases. Rising costs continue to challenge local workers. KXTL
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Montana Tech senior Trey Whitlock, who balances full-time EMT shifts, heavy class loads, and community events (including science demos), will graduate today. He plans to complete his paramedic certification and apply to physician assistant programs as he prepares for a career in trauma medicine. Montana Tech

- ➤ Butte’s Lady Justice statue received its missing scale after 113 years. The city purchased a scale for ($50) on eBay and attached it while replacing courthouse windows to complete the symbol of blind justice. KXLF
