COMMUNITY NEWS

  • CASA of Butte-Silver Bow will launch in January to provide court advocates for 130 foster children navigating the dependency system. The program seeks volunteers who pass background checks and complete a six-week training program + also welcomes donations for a matching $25,000 grant.  KXLF
  • Butte Civic Center unveiled its new $250K basketball court — a modern facility built for local events. Officials said the court, which is admired for its design, will soon host community games.  The Montana Standard
  • Butte’s Festival of Trees fundraiser begins today at the Butte Elks Lodge and runs until Nov. 22 to raise money for United Way by featuring 50 locally decorated trees themed to create Christmas memories. Gala and live auction tickets start at 7 p.m. on Nov. 22 (tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple), and regular admission is $5.  KXLF
  • Butte Elks Lodge is hosting a Festival of Trees to aid United Way with local fundraising—community members are invited to attend and support the cause.  The Montana Standard

CULTURE NEWS

  • ZooMontana announced its first pair of bobcats—one six-month-old male and one three-month-old female orphaned in northwest Montana—joining three resident grizzlies just in time for the Brawl of the Wild. The zoo invites visitors to donate non-perishable food items for team support and will see Lander the porcupine make her pick today at 11 a.m. as fans help name the new arrivals.  KXTL

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Old Farmer's Almanac forecast for Thanksgiving travel—set for November 27—warns Montana drivers that cold temperatures with highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s, mixed with rain and snow, will likely cause slick roads and delays beginning early next week.  KXTL

SPORTS NEWS

  • Montana Tech Orediggers Football finished an undefeated regular season and won the Frontier Conference Championship as 37 players earned Academic All-Conference honors by meeting a 3.25 GPA requirement. The team will host its first NAIA National Playoffs contest on November 29th.  KXTL
  • The MSU Alumni Foundation released an official list of watch parties for Saturday's game between the Bobcats and Grizzlies at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula. Butte fans can watch on ESPN+ or CBS and join the event at Shenanigans Bar + Casino as the winner earns an automatic berth in the FCS playoffs.  KXTL
