- ➤ At the new Tractor Supply on Harrison Avenue, Lynette Hogart from the Chelsea Bailey Shelter — with adoptable Husky Wyzowski — rallied donations of dry dog and cat food to fight pet hunger as economic struggles grow. Donations are accepted at the shelter on Centennial Avenue and at the Butte-Silver Bow Health Department on Front Street during operating hours Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. KXTL
- ➤ Today, a Veterans Day service begins at the Butte Civic Center at 10 a.m. and a light brunch follows. Local runners may join Butte's Veterans Day Run—registration is available in-person at American Legion Hall from 10 to 10:45 a.m. with a $20 fee—and the race starts at 11:11 a.m. to benefit the American Legion Silver Bow Post #1. - ➤ Local residents are invited to help decorate the historic Elling House as a community event to preserve this landmark — details on volunteer meetups will be announced. The Montana Standard

- ➤ CornerStone Plaza on South Harrison Avenue has opened with a Chipotle restaurant now operating. The developer said more chains such as Chick-fil-A, Jersey Mikes and Five Guys will open soon — a boost for local contractors and the Harrison corridor that city officials welcome. KXLF

- ➤ On November 21, the tribute concert Stayin’ Alive will honor Bee Gees hits at Butte’s Mother Lode Theater—doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. KXTL
- ➤ Melanie Rae Wendt of Butte has written and will direct Ecstasy, a modern retelling of The Bacchae that will run Nov. 14th and 15th at the Covellite Theatre starting at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $25 for the show only and $65 for the package with dinner at 7 p.m., which must be purchased before Thursday at noon. - ➤ Today, Covellite Theater starts its busy week with an open mic night for local acts. Upcoming events include a free movie on November 12th, comedy on November 13th, and the world premiere dinner theater production 'Ecstasy' on November 14th and 15th—written and directed by Melanie Rae Wendt with dinner from Saffron Mediterranean. - ➤ Volunteers in Southwest Montana are removing 35 miles of barbed wire fences in Grasshopper Valley this week to improve migration routes for pronghorn and elk—part of an end-of-the-year project by the National Wildlife Federation—and over 200 volunteers have joined the work. KXTL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Town Pump has given $1 million in grants to food banks amid the ongoing government shutdown—food banks can spend the funds even as Congress discusses ending the shutdown this week. The Montana Standard
- ➤ On November 4, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin visited Butte's Berkeley Pit Superfund site and promised faster cleanup and closer community partnership—he met with local residents to hear concerns about issues such as lead levels. His remarks emphasized that government officials plan to work closely with the community to address long-standing safety issues. KXLF
