A local complex was renamed in honor of Don Peoples Sr.—the man credited with saving Butte.
Peoples said that Butte is dear to his heart and he is flattered by the honor.
The Butte Community Winter Market will be held on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through April at the Elks Lodge located at 206 W.

The Montana Lottery announced changes to Montana Millionaire that will offer more tickets and prizes this year—ticket sales open November 1 at 5:30 a.m. and the odds to win a million-dollar prize have improved.
Residents can buy tickets at local retailers.

Tucker Wetmore, a rising country star, played college football at Montana Tech in Butte+he suffered a severe leg injury during spring ball that ended his athletic career; he later returned to Montana, performing at the Montana State Fair on July 28 and Headwaters Country Jam last summer.
The band Gaelic Storm will perform in Butte on October 21 — the group is known for its role in the film Titanic and its soundtrack recordings.
A ghost walk event is set for this weekend at World Museum of Mining — where costumed interpreters portray figures from Butte’s past as they guide guests through the museum grounds.

Montana Technological University announced fall enrollment increased nearly 4% to 2,516 students — marking the third straight year of growth.
Montana Tech Chancellor Johnny MacLean said Tuesday that the college’s 125-year legacy guides its effort to meet the nation’s needs — he promised the school will continue to rise to new watershed moments.
