ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Three Butte residents and three firefighters were hospitalized after dangerous carbon monoxide levels were detected in a home Saturday evening & firefighters rescued the residents and evacuated the building, while the exposed firefighters received treatment & were later released. KXLF
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ WalletHub released its ranking of Montana colleges based on factors like admission rate, cost, and graduation rate—Carroll College in Helena was named best while the University of Montana did not make the list. KXTL
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents in Butte shoveled six inches of wet, heavy snow Monday morning and now brace for a long winter—many expect additional snowfall later this week. KXLF
- ➤ A national study from Pulsz—ranking Montana fifth among best fall hiking states—found 1,636 trails that offer views of golden aspens and snow-capped peaks, showing the state's natural beauty for fall hikers. KXTL
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Butte High Bulldogs played frosh football on Monday and are playing volleyball today at Ross J. Richardson Gym against the Missoula Big Sky Eagles with frosh matches at 4 p.m., JV at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.—they will face Hellgate in football and compete in cross country on Thursday before hosting Glacier for soccer on Friday.
