- ➤ Irish author Kevin Barry’s latest novel The Heart in Winter was inspired by his research at Butte Public Archives more than 25 years ago and he said the town has changed since then. He will talk about the book today at 7 p.m.—his lecture is set at the Montana Tech auditorium. KXLF

- ➤ Montana residents are bracing for heavy snow as the National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch for many mountain areas—forecasters predict snow totals from 2 to 18 inches with travel becoming hazardous in several locations. KXTL
