- ➤ Families can win a full getaway package at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort with swim passes for four, 18 holes of golf, and a one- or two-night stay as the Butte Chamber of Commerce runs a raffle—tickets cost $50 each and are available at 1000 George Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds will help fund a new trolley for community events. BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Today, Black Dog Creamery opened its permanent space at the new Cleveland Market on Galena Street—where Braydon and Garrity Heier make all ice cream from scratch with rock-and-roll themed names—and will serve customers Monday through Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. KXTL
- ➤ Starbucks announced that hundreds of U.S. stores will close as part of its Back to Starbucks plan—no Montana locations are slated for closure yet, so local coffee fans can still enjoy their lattes. The company will also upgrade over 1,000 stores to boost the customer experience. KXTL

- ➤ Butte High homecoming royalty Gracie Jonart posed for a portrait at halftime on Friday, Sept. 26 at Naranche Stadium during the football game against Missoula Sentinel — marking a cherished school tradition. The Montana Standard
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A survey with over 200 responses shows that nearly half of local voters say the current government setup is ineffective while 44% back a city manager model and 59% believe 12 commissioners is too many—pushing the Butte-Silver Bow Study Commission to propose changes on a November ballot. A public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Courthouse as the survey remains open until late October. The Montana Standard
