EDUCATION NEWS

  • Emerson Elementary in Butte hosted a tour for about 400 students and families to help ease first-day jitters before classes began on Aug.26 — Kindergarten students will start on Sept.2 as teachers said the event boosted confidence in learning.  KXLF

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Erik Nyland, a Butte citizen, said state regulators did not ensure safe drinking water after a one-to-two week crisis left thousands without water following a 'Do Not Consume' order—critics ask why the state did not act. Governor Gianforte visited Butte today to tour an advanced manufacturing business while Montana Resources works to stop mine water from mixing with the municipal supply.  KXLF
  • The Montana Stockgrowers Association and Wyoming ranching groups have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to decide on corner-crossing rules — a ruling that could affect nearly 900,000 acres of Montana public land and 8.3 million acres nationwide.  KXTL
