- ➤ Two Butte residents filed a class action lawsuit on Monday in Silver Bow County District Court alleging that Montana Resources' mining operations contaminated the city’s water supply when processed mine water entered the municipal system via a fire hydrant connection on Aug. 13—Butte-Silver Bow and the Montana Department of Environmental Quality later issued a do not consume order for residents south of Front Street while the company shut off the source and ordered new equipment to prevent further incidents.
