  • Butte law enforcement shut down Park Street after a two-hour standoff at a residence on Park and Clark where a 44-year-old suspect, who was suicidal and had children present, surrendered—he now faces a mental evaluation and potential charges.  KXLF
  • Police cleared West Park Street in Butte after a tactical operation led to one arrest, and officials said the area was safe—traffic was expected to resume soon.  MontanaRightNow

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Canadian visitors to Montana are down more than 30 percent this summer—officials say this drop worries the local economy and has led the state to focus on domestic travel.   • The Montana Motor Vehicle Division launched Montana Mobile IDs on Tuesday to let citizens add a digital version of their driver license to their phone wallets.   • The FDA today warned shoppers about Great Value shrimp sold at Walmart after tests detected Cesium-137—none of the contaminated shrimp were sold in Montana. Customers with recalled lot codes 8005540-1, 8005538-1, or 8005539-1 should check their freezers—discard any affected products immediately.  KXTL
