  • Jay Wood, president of the Southwest Montana Veterans Food Pantry & Services in Deer Lodge, was named the Q2 2025 Salute to Service Award recipient by the Veterans Navigation Network. He leads efforts to combat food insecurity & improve mental health support for local veterans.  KXTL

BUSINESS NEWS

  • This fall, Uptown Butte will welcome the Cleveland Market in a historic building on East Galena Street—where local shops including a leatherworker and organic grocer will offer unique goods. The collective retail space is set to open in late August or early September.  KXLF

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Montana ranked 49th nationally for early education according to a WalletHub report that measured 12 factors — including state pre-K programs and spending per child. The state, known for its natural beauty and agriculture, now faces pressure to boost support for its youngest learners.  KXTL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Butte’s Ridge Waters waterpark has been closed for five days due to a faulty computerized control panel that regulates chlorine levels—officials are working with a distributor in Bismarck to ship and install a new part so the park will likely reopen on Monday.  The Montana Standard
