COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Butte-Silver Bow Fair will run from 9 a.m. Thursday through Saturday night at the Butte Civic Center, featuring rodeos, freestyle motocross, live music from local bands and singer-songwriter Kyle Rife, plus fun events like a cornhole tournament and a pie-eating contest. The 4-H kids will be the main stars as they show their animal projects and skills they have worked on — a true celebration for the community.  The Montana Standard

CRIME NEWS

  • Butte man Sullivan was arraigned on an attempted deliberate homicide charge today—he made his initial court appearance and now faces further legal proceedings.  The Montana Standard

CULTURE NEWS

  • Al Hess is leading a project to restore Engine 25 at the Butte Civic Center and build a protective housing structure—local government and sponsors have supported the effort so far. A fundraiser is scheduled for August 16 from noon to 6 p.m when historical displays and auction items will be featured.  KXTL
  • Legendary ZZ Top guitarist Billy F Gibbons performed Saturday at the Wise River Club for a benefit that sold all 125 tickets to support the Beaverhead County Sheriff's K9 program. Co-owner Tim Montana and his band backed the event as proceeds helped fund K9s Riker and Otter.  The Montana Standard

HEALTH NEWS

  • Dr. Bill Hull, the heart specialist who closed his Butte practice in early July leaving 3,000 patients without care, will reopen his clinic in September under Great Falls Clinic—retaining his entire staff and connecting patients to necessary specialty services. The move aims to restore vital heart care for long-time community members.  KXLF
