  • The Anaconda Masonic Temple is hosting a live and silent auction on August 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at Club Moderne to raise funds for a larger Christmas For Kids event in December—this auction will feature a vehicle, an electric bike, and a storage shed to support free activities for local children. The auction will help bring festive events like a matinee, Santa visit, and bowling to kids across Southwest Montana.  KXTL

CULTURE NEWS

  • Tim Montana jumped into the pool behind Sip 'n Dip at O'Haire Motor Inn in Great Falls as a merman while on his Montana tour and his Instagram video drew lively comments. He will perform at Windsor Bar in Boulder, Old Saloon in Emigrant and Pioneer Bar in Virginia City before returning to Wise River Club.  KXTL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Gianforte signed Senate Bill 514 to give Montana residents a 10-day head start for upland game bird hunting starting March 1—excluding mountain Grouse. The new law aims to reduce nonresident competition during the hunting season.  KXTL
  • County officials say sewer and trash rates in Butte-Silver Bow are proposed to increase as part of a revised budget — they expect more details on local property taxes once the state certifies mill values in the coming days.  The Montana Standard

HEALTH NEWS

  • Walmart recalled a popular 64-ounce Ozark Trail metal water bottle after its lid ejected with force, injuring three Montana shoppers and leaving two with permanent vision loss. Montana buyers are urged to inspect bottles for model 83-662 and stop using them + follow safety instructions from officials.  KXTL
