A CDC study found that between 1999 and 2024 Montana recorded 62 wildlife-related deaths yet ranked first by population, ahead of states with higher totals like Texas, highlighting the unique risks for locals.
Experts note that the numbers reflect Montana’s sparse population and robust wildlife presence.
