- ➤ In Butte, 10-year-old Kynslee Kendall started a lemonade stand on Tuesday, July 8 to raise money for the family of her friend who died in the Texas flood on July 4 at Camp Mystic. Her family said she is one of a kind—showing a huge heart—while they cope with the loss. KXLF
- ➤ Butte’s new Community Market has opened at Clark Park; the rain-or-shine market offers fresh produce+handmade soaps+local art along with family activities and runs every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. through September 25. KXLF
- ➤ On August 23rd, the SW Montana Veterans Food Pantry & Services will host a poker run in Deer Lodge where riders register at 9:30 a.m., start at 10:30 a.m. and must return by 5 p.m.; at the fairgrounds, a barbecue, silent auction, raffle drawing and live music from Dan Henry will follow—proceeds will support local veterans. - ➤ Two bodies were found in Montana rivers this weekend — a 21-year-old woman identified as Aiden Lueken was found in the Boulder River on the Fourth of July and another individual was discovered Sunday near Upper Swinging Bridge Rapids on the Stillwater River, prompting warnings for river safety.
