- ➤ On June 6, new federal guidance forced Montana officials to change the $600M broadband plan by shifting from a fiber preference to allowing fixed wireless and satellite to compete on price+ officials plan to open a revised bid window on July 7 so providers have 15 days to respond. State officials already mapped areas without fast internet and are now rewriting applications to help close Montana’s digital divide. KXTL
