- ➤ Crews installed a 70-foot-long, 1,600-pound new transmitter on the KXLF broadcast tower in Butte on June 19 as part of Scripps’s multimillion-dollar plan to upgrade transmitters in Montana — the switch from VHF to UHF will improve over-the-air reception and digital capabilities with a brief broadcast interruption scheduled before the upgrade goes online. - ➤ St. Timothy’s Memorial Chapel will host the first performance of its Summer Music Festival on June 29—marking the kickoff of the series at the historic chapel. The Montana Standard

- ➤ Longtime ranchers in Shields Valley claim CrossHarbor Capital Partners illegally diverted water from Rock Creek to irrigate a luxury golf course at Crazy Mountain Ranch and water commissioner Rich Sarrazin said he will shut off water to Rainbow Lake and the course this summer if the dispute is not resolved—raising concerns for local water supplies and wildlife. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Butte City Council adopted the Pride flag as the official city flag today to honor its long tradition of raising the flag during June at government facilities despite a new state law that limits political flags. The council approved the measure by a vote of 11—1. KXLF
- ➤ A new Montana law now bans vaping in all indoor public spaces, which means coffee shops, gyms, and grocery stores must stop allowing vapes and e-cigarettes indoors. Senate Bill 390 was signed by Governor Greg Gianforte last May + enforcement has begun with businesses receiving educational letters for initial violations. KXTL
- ➤ Montanans who plan to fly or enter federal buildings must show a REAL ID—or an acceptable alternative like a passport or passport card—since the May 7 deadline has passed, and residents are urged to gather the required documents and schedule an appointment if needed. KXTL
