COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Butte Wings & Wheels will take place on Saturday, June 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bert Mooney Airport, where visitors can enjoy aircraft displays and vintage cars in a festive community event.  The Montana Standard
  • Starting June 11, the Spirit of Columbia Gardens Carousel in Stodden Park will offer free rides every Thursday (Children’s Day) throughout the summer.  The Montana Standard

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Sabey Data Centers ended its buy-sell agreement with Butte-Silver Bow County after REC Silicon exercised its right of first refusal for business park land. The company is looking for a new data center site.  The Montana Standard

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Montana Folk Festival will run from July 10 to 12 at the historic mine yard in uptown Butte — the free event will feature over 200 musicians, dancers and craftspeople from local and international acts.  KXTL
  • Miners’ Union Day at the World Museum of Mining is scheduled for Saturday, June 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring free admission + a celebration of Butte’s mining heritage.  The Montana Standard
  • Comedian Jonathan Van Halem will perform at The Covellite in Butte this Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $18 in advance + $25 on the day, with Noah Crow and host Stone Casad adding to the lineup.  KXTL
  • Watchhouse, a North Carolina-based duo of Andrew Marlin and Emily Frantz, will perform in concert on Friday, June 26 at Mother Lode Theatre + fans can look forward to enjoying live music in their community.  The Montana Standard

ECONOMY NEWS

  • As the U.S. stopped minting pennies in 2025, Butte retailers have already adjusted their prices to avoid rounding issues on cash transactions. Local Chamber of Commerce officials say this proactive change keeps transactions smooth + minimizes small discrepancies.  MontanaRightNow
  • SNAP recipients can now double their benefits when buying locally grown produce from area farmers. The incentive increases access to fresh fruits and vegetables for food stamp users (supporting local agriculture).  The Montana Standard

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Butte-Silver Bow Public Library will host a workshop on social media safety + online scams at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2 at 226 W. Broadway St.; the session will help participants learn strategies to avoid online scams.  The Montana Standard

SPORTS NEWS

  • Butte High’s baseball team takes on Gallatin at 4:00 p.m. today at Copper Mountain Park - its state softball and track teams will compete in Missoula later this weekend.  KXTL
