COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Butte Farmers Market will return on May 17 — the local event will feature vendors and fresh produce for community members.  The Montana Standard
  • Today at Butte Brewing Co., a W.E.T. Food and Blood Drive runs from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. where donors receive a swag bag and door prize tickets—food donations will be given to the Butte Pantry; tomorrow, residents may leave nonperishable items in a bag by their mailbox for the Letter Carriers Food Drive benefiting the Butte Emergency Food Bank.  KXTL
  • The annual gun show will be held at the Old Montana Prison from May 23-25. The event will give local gun enthusiasts a chance to browse items in a unique historic venue.  The Montana Standard
  • A busy weekend unfolded in southwest Montana as a music night with Fuzzy B on May 8 already drew a crowd and live music by Aberdeen Alley is set for tonight, with a Peter Pan show in Deer Lodge running until May 18 and a ghost hunt at Old St. James Hospital scheduled for May 10–11. Local venues in Butte, Three Forks and Deer Lodge will also host comedy shows, a Mother’s Day breakfast and more, offering residents several chances to enjoy community events—each event providing a unique local experience.  The Montana Standard

  • Montanans can explore the state's quirky roadside attractions with a 27-foot, 5-ton penguin statue in Cut Bank that has drawn thousands since 1989 — alongside Joliet’s Pathway Through the Bible and Butte’s Berkeley Pitt and Our Lady of the Rockies, which offer unique photo spots and local charm — providing fun stops for warm-weather road trips.  KXTL
  • Students at Butte Central Catholic High School watched a live announcement as Leo XIV was chosen as the first American pope following Pope Francis’s death—English teacher Sabrina Holland-Kump explained the process while students like Cadence Pawlik and James Holmes expressed surprise over the historic selection.
