  • Montana food banks face a 40% federal funding cut that will reduce food distribution by about 600,000 pounds over the next year—local agencies urge donations as rising living costs and layoffs increase demand.  KXTL

  • Montana Tech announced awards for its graduating class of 2025—honoring top students with valedictorian titles in both associate and baccalaureate programs, engineering achievement awards, and various outstanding student recognitions for academic excellence, character, and service.  Montana Tech

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Environmental Protection Agency canceled a $20M grant for Butte’s community wellness hub that was planned to offer shelter during wildfires and provide fitness and cultural programs—local officials say the move threatens a carefully planned vision. SPORTS NEWS

  • Butte High sports teams have a busy week with contests in softball, baseball, tennis and track and field. The girls softball team will travel to Helena today at 3 p.m. then host Helena Capital on Thursday while the baseball team faces Beaverhead today at 3 p.m. — the tennis and track teams have scheduled games later in the week — keeping the Bulldogs busy.  KXTL
