  • The Covellite will host the official Food Truck Fest Afterparty today at 215 W. Broadway in Historic Uptown Butte, with live music from The Beagles starting at 8 p.m. Admission is free (a $10 donation is suggested to support the event).  KXTL

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Butte's economic development board met on Friday to address wrinkles in land transactions at the Montana Business Development Park that might affect Sabey Data Centers, REC Silicon and Cenate in upcoming planning.  The Montana Standard
  • Pekin Noodle Parlor, the oldest continuously operated family-owned Chinese restaurant in the U.S., is closing after decades of serving locals. A freeze warning is in effect for parts of the Bitterroot Valley from midnight to 8 a.m. Sunday, which may threaten nearby crops & outdoor plumbing.  MontanaRightNow

CULTURE NEWS

  • Montana’s national parks draw millions every summer while showcasing a rich heritage: Yellowstone (America’s first national park) was established Mar. 1, 1872, and Glacier became a park May 11, 1910. This summer tourism underscores the lasting appeal of these historic sites.  KXTL
  • After serving Butte for 115 years, the Pekin Noodle Parlor closed this week — ending a key part of the city's Chinese history.  The Montana Standard

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Montana Tech held its 15th annual Techxpo Design Showcase on Thursday, Apr. 23 at the HPER Complex, where 198 undergrad & graduate students presented 107 projects. Industry judges awarded cash prizes for top STEM innovations to the winning teams.  Montana Tech

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Kari Boiter, a longtime Montana marijuana advocate, said the federal rescheduling of cannabis for medical use promises quicker DEA registration for local businesses and potential insurance coverage for patients. She noted that the change is partial as full legalization remains pending, with a DEA hearing scheduled for late June.  KXLF
