- ➤ The Butte Rescue Mission has finished its new Center of Hope facility to boost meal services and community support to fight food insecurity. The renovated center features a large kitchen, seating over 100+ people, a clinic, and meeting rooms where local organizations will offer case management and classes. KXLF
- ➤ The remains of World War II Army Pvt. Henry 'Harry' David Bordner, who died Oct. 20, 1942, are coming home to Butte on Wednesday. The Montana Standard
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Jordan World Circus will return to the civic center today without elephants after Viola escaped in 2024 from her handlers and ran down Harrison Avenue. Civic Center manager Bill Melvin confirmed that animal acts will feature dogs but no exotic animals. KXLF
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Butte Central High School will host its prom on Friday from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Finlen Hotel + 100 E. Broadway St. The Montana Standard
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana’s spring turkey hunting season opens tomorrow, April 15, for residents and nonresidents on private lands while nonresidents on public or enrolled lands must wait until April 25; hunters can only harvest male turkeys using shotguns or archery equipment through May 31. KXLF
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Copper City Queens hosted a roller derby bout at the Butte Civic Center on Saturday night, drawing local fans to watch them compete against the Portneuf Valley Bruisers. The Montana Standard
- ➤ The Butte High Bulldogs kick off a busy week on Tuesday with softball hosting the Helena Capital Bruins at 3 p.m. (JV at 5 p.m.), baseball facing the Belgrade Panthers at 3 p.m. at Legends Stadim, and track meets beginning at 1 p.m. in Helena as tennis events follow later. KXTL
