- ➤ Safe Space Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center is holding its annual Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser to raise awareness by placing plastic flamingos in yards for 24 hours after a $20 donation. The event runs through the end of April with a flock party on May 3 (featuring live entertainment and auctions) to cap off the celebrations. KXTL
- ➤ Employees at NorthWestern Energy donated a truckload of dog and cat food — paid from their own pockets — to the Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter in Butte. Their gift will support the shelter as it cares for pets awaiting adoption. KXTL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana lawmakers advanced the Montana Hunters First Act to study the impact of out-of-state hunters on access and success after growing concerns from local hunters. The Senate passed House Bill 568 with a 49—1 vote and it will be reviewed by the House before going to Governor Gianforte. KXTL
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A study identified Montana counties with high cancer rates and linked them to factors like lifestyle, genetics, and environmental exposures—raising concerns about limited access to health care. Public health officials will review the report and plan to strengthen screening and prevention measures. KXTL
