CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A historic wrought iron arch at Mountain View Cemetery, built about a century ago, was destroyed late Monday night or early Tuesday morning — damage likely caused by a large truck or motorhome — and Butte-Silver Bow Emergency Management is asking the public for help with identifying those responsible. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Butte Public Library will host its annual Edible Book Festival on Saturday, April 12 at 2 p.m. Contestants are invited to create book-themed dishes (like cakes) and bring entries by noon on the event day. KXLF
- ➤ Butte Elks Lodge #240 at 206 W. Galena will host a free line-dance lesson by the Klobucars with Copper City Divas and Dudes from 6:30 to 8 p.m.—followed by live country music by Kyle Rife from 8 to 11 p.m. this Friday. KXTL

- ➤ Health officials warn that Candida auris—a deadly, drug-resistant fungus—is spreading quickly nationwide with record cases reported in 2023, and although Butte has seen fewer than 10 cases annually, local hospitals and nursing homes are urged to update cleaning protocols to stave off a potential outbreak.
