- ➤ The Southwest Montana Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will host a banquet on Saturday, Apr. 11 at Maroon Activity Center (550 E. Mercury St). The Montana Standard
- ➤ Skyline Sportsmen's banquet is planned for April 24 at the Butte Civic Center and will feature raffle and door prizes plus silent and live auctions to support the association's only fundraiser this year. The Montana Standard
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Main Stope Gallery now showcases work by local artist Rachael Marjamaa (drawing inspiration from Finnish ryijy, a fiber tapestry art dating back to the Viking age). The exhibit brings an ancient art form to a modern audience. The Montana Standard
- ➤ The Mother Lode Theatre will host Wizard of Oz on Ice on April 19 in Butte — doors open at 4:00 p.m. and the show begins at 5:00 p.m. Produced by Ice Creative Entertainment, the performance will feature graceful skating, vibrant costumes, and special effects to reimagine the classic tale. KXTL

- ➤ NorthWestern Energy has proposed new rules for large electricity users to protect existing customers while an environmental nonprofit leader said the measures are woefully inadequate to shield residential power users.
