COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Montana officials say residents must share details on 27 missing children—pictures and names from the Montana Missing Persons Database—to support families still searching.  KXTL

CULTURE NEWS

  • Uptown Butte now has Saffron — a restaurant run by chef Azhar Bougary that brings Mediterranean flavors from her family recipes — in a historic building on Park Street. The restaurant will be open from Wednesday through Saturday starting at 4 p.m. and it offers catering services.  KXLF

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Montana led South Dakota in the latest GDP report from the Minneapolis Fed with a score of 117.7 compared to 111.7 and a national average of 114.5—Governor Gianforte’s office said planned tax cuts, which will lower the main income tax rate from 5.9% to 4.9% and provide $850 million in relief, are expected to boost the state’s economy.  KXTL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The 2025 Materials Under the Big Sky Symposium will be held Friday, April 4th at Montana Tech in the Student Success Center in the Lance Leadership Hall and is co-sponsored by Montana State University. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a poster session starting at 2:45 p.m. — it is open to all — and will feature research presentations by students and faculty.  Montana Tech

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Montana farmers in Gallatin County can apply for USDA emergency drought loans to help with losses from severe drought — they must contact their local Farm Service Agency and gather needed documents by November 25 — to replace lost livestock and damaged equipment.  KXTL
  • State Sen. Forrest Mandeville encouraged talks between supporters and opponents of House Bill 547—which would give the paid fire chief full command over Butte’s fire departments—and said a week-and-a-half is enough time to work out changes. Volunteer firefighters worry the bill will reduce their independence while supporters claim it will fix decades of disputes, and the Senate committee will soon vote on its fate.  The Montana Standard

  • Butte High and Butte Central teams are set to kick off a busy week of sports today with baseball at Three Legends Stadium and a track meet at Garden City, and they will compete in softball, tennis, and more events later this week at venues such as Stodden Park and Billings amid weather-related uncertainties — all contests are subject to change.  KXTL
