Today, a local group in Butte is making 3,000 pasties to help fund a new tram and cover maintenance for Our Lady of the Rockies—an iconic 88.6-foot statue.
Volunteers plan to make 600 pasties a day as part of the annual fundraiser that sells pasties for $7 each with a goal of raising $55 million at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Today at the Butte Elks Lodge 240, United Way of Butte and Anaconda will host a bingo and pizza party at 6 p.m. to raise funds for local partner agencies—on Sunday, a $10 breakfast fundraiser for Butte High School Tennis from 9 to 11 a.m. will be followed by an adults-only bingo event at 1 p.m.
Brandon Fode, an Anaconda man, received a six-year deferred sentence in Butte for a 2023 bar attack that left his victim with a broken jaw and missing tooth—he must pay $11,000 for medical bills and remains free on bond.
This Saturday, Sail On will perform classic Beach Boys hits at the Mother Lode Theater.
