COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Butte Chamber of Commerce is rallying local businesses + community members to support 13 TSA employees working without pay due to a federal deadlock by collecting $20-and-under gas and grocery gift cards at the Chamber/Visitors Center at 1000 George Street.  KXTL

CULTURE NEWS

  • Jack Willhite will perform his Rock & Roll Comedy Show at The Covellite this Saturday, Mar. 28, entertaining the local audience with rock vocal impressions & stand-up comedy. Kane O'Neil and April Huerta support him, and advance tickets are recommended due to high demand.  KXTL
  • Butte will soon host a series of events including a rock and roll comedy show, a history lecture, a yoga session, and a winter market at several local venues.  The Montana Standard

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Environmental Quality Council held three panels on Wednesday to review Montana rivers' health and river recreation following a mild winter + urging state leaders to boost funding for needed improvements.  The Montana Standard
  • Officials approved a 33-acre mine waste repository northwest of the Berkeley Pit for storing contaminated soil as part of Superfund cleanup efforts, and excavation work on the Diggings East project will start in August. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • County officials from Butte Silver Bow are touring Sabey Data Center in Washington to inspect a planned data center for 600 acres at Montana Connection Industrial Park. They want to assess the community impact + job potential before Sabey decides by August on the land sale agreement.  KXLF

SPORTS NEWS

  • Butte Central Baseball opens its 2026 season next week with a cross-town matchup against Butte High on Tuesday, Mar. 31 at 3 Legends Stadium * Copper Mountain Park. The game will feature both varsity and JV contests in the team's fourth season.  KXTL
