- ➤ About 60 Butte artists made 1,300 handcrafted bowls at Hungry Hill Art Center since fall to prepare for the Empty Bowls event at the civic center on April 8; proceeds support the food bank backpack program. Local businesses will serve soup (tickets: $20, $50, or $100). KXLF
- ➤ Butte families can celebrate Easter with egg hunts at several local venues. The Southwest Montana Veteran’s Home hosts its event on April 3rd at 2 p.m. (call 406-792-3100) while The Springs, Butte Vigilante Saddle Club and Team 406 schedule family activities on April 4th. KXTL
- ➤ Smelter City Senior Citizens' Center will host its Spring Fling community dance for all ages from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 10 at The Metcalf. Local residents are invited to join the dance for music and movement. The Montana Standard
- ➤ Butte-Silver Bow Chamber of Commerce is asking for donations to help TSA employees at Bert Mooney Airport working without pay as they secure the terminal, and local members are encouraged to contribute + support the effort. The Montana Standard
- ➤ Bingo Bonanza, a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters, will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 17 at The Butte Depot (818 S. Arizona St.) to support local youth mentoring programs. The Montana Standard

- ➤ Live from Laurel Canyon is a community concert that will feature live music and narrated stories about influential songwriters from the 1960s+1970s. The event attracts local fans for an evening celebrating classic tunes in Butte. The Montana Standard

- ➤ Valerie Neal will speak at the Butte library on the history of U.S. women astronauts — she will share insights on their role in America’s space program. The Montana Standard
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Today, community health officials in Butte-Silver Bow County held a forum where epidemiologist Devon Covart and Dr. Chad Foust explained best practices for preventing bird flu (HPAI) in backyard chicken flocks, stressing proper coop cleaning and avoiding tool cross-contamination. KXLF
- ➤ This April, Butte is going purple as local businesses join efforts to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s by decorating storefronts, hosting fundraisers, and allowing volunteers to paint purple-themed windows (participation sign-ups close April 12). The Alzheimer’s Association of Southwest Montana leads the event to support families affected by the disease. KXTL
