- ➤ Butte volunteers are making about 600 pasties a day for the rest of this week to raise funds for the maintenance of the Our Lady of the Rockies statue and support a future tram project—a 30-year tradition. Locals can buy the pasties for $7 each at the old St. Mary’s Catholic Church on North Main Street. KXLF

CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Andrew James Davis, 31, appeared via Zoom from Butte Detention Center in Justice Court today after he was arrested on March 24 for a robbery at Southwest Montana Federal Credit Union on Elizabeth Warren Avenue—he requested counsel, did not answer questions, and faces felony robbery charges that can lead to up to 40 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. - ➤ Mother Lode Theater will host 'A Taste Of Ireland' on May 30 at 7:30 p.m.—The show will feature former World Irish dance champions who will perform live Irish music and dance to celebrate Irish culture. KXTL
- ➤ Billy Strings, one of the most popular bluegrass bands, will perform two concerts in Montana in August—on August 15 at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman and on August 16 at Adams Center in Missoula. Tickets go on sale on March 28 at 10:00 a.m. KXTL

- ➤ Gun sales soared during the pandemic and slowed by 2023—falling to just under 15 million as panic buying faded and political factors shifted—while Montana residents remain the top gun-owning group with over 66% owning guns. KXTL
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A new study from NIH’s Rocky Mountain Labs tested 900 blood samples from six hospitals and found that between 21% and 40% show signs of infection with mosquito-borne viruses—such as Jamestown Canyon and La Crosse—viruses that many doctors do not routinely check for. Most cases have mild symptoms though a few can lead to serious problems, so local health providers will need to be alert during the upcoming mosquito season. KXTL

- ➤ Montana Tech's women's basketball players—Humphreys, Mayer, Rademacher, and Wangerin—received Academic All-District honors Tuesday morning from College Sports Communicators. The athletes maintained strong GPAs and key roles on the court and are now eligible for Academic All-America awards. KXTL
