  • Aislinn Wright and Emaleigh Cimorelli, two Montana Tech nursing students, are organizing a food drive on Wednesday at Three Bears Alaska at 45 Three Bears Drive—volunteers will donate canned goods, pet food and toiletries to help families in need.  KXTL

  • Big-name restaurant chains will open new locations in Montana later in 2025 as permits are pending and a growing population with rising tourism draws national brands—some chains will also close stores or change menus, with Starbucks set to cut 30% of its offerings before the year ends.  KXTL

CRIME NEWS

  • Butte Police and Montana Highway Patrol arrested a white male suspect after he robbed the Southwest Montana Community Federal Credit Union on Elizabeth Warren Avenue on March 24 at 12:21 p.m.—authorities stopped his vehicle near Rocker at 2:58 p.m. and the investigation remains ongoing.  MontanaRightNow
  • An unknown man entered a local credit union and left a note demanding money—he received cash and fled before law enforcement apprehended him.  The Montana Standard
  • Butte Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly robbed a credit union in Butte on March 24 by entering the branch, handing staff a note demanding cash and fleeing in a dark-colored car; the suspect is described as a white male with dark, curly hair and a dark beard possibly wearing a green shirt.  KXLF

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Montana has a rare natural wonder called the Ringing Rocks located 18 miles east of Butte near I-90. The rocks ring like bells when struck and were first noticed by local R.T. 'Kid' Ogle in 1933 — scientists think the sound comes from the way the rocks are made and stacked.  KXTL

SPORTS NEWS

  • Root Sports announced a new streaming app that will let Seattle Mariners fans in Montana watch games without cable restrictions—avoiding blackout issues and extra fees. The service will cost $20 a month and offers local fans a new way to follow their team.  KXTL
