COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A recent US-based WalletHub study ranks US cities by happiness with Missoula at 37 and Billings at 77 while Bozeman is absent. The study measures income, health and leisure time to show how different Montana communities perform.  KXTL

CULTURE NEWS

  • Edmonton Pipes and Drums Band will play in Butte for St. Patrick's Day celebrations—honoring the city's Celtic heritage—and continue a tradition that began in 1984.  The Montana Standard
  • Jim Daily, a local construction owner known for his community service, has been named Grand Marshal for the 2026 St. Patrick's Day Parade which starts at 12pm at Granite and Wyoming and follows a downtown route. Daily is celebrated for his deep Irish heritage and dedication to local service.  KXTL
  • Mesquite, a 10-year-old mustang who stepped on a nail during a trail ride near Anaconda, is healing well and is expected to join Butte’s St. Patrick's Day Parade if his recovery stays on track (owner Ciara Pares Kempf said the horse is in good spirits).  KXLF
  • Children 10 and under will hunt for hidden shamrocks at the World Museum of Mining on Mar. 20 in exchange for a lucky prize — a festive event for local families.  The Montana Standard

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A HireAHelper report showed that 78.5% of Americans moved within their state in 2025 while Montana added only 23.4 residents per 10,000—far less than Texas and neighboring Idaho, which gained up to 63.2 per 10,000.  KXTL
