  • The Spirit of Columbia Gardens hosts a St. Patrick's Day fundraiser on Saturday, March 7 to raise $40,000 for the historic carousel in Stodden Park, with food, drinks plus live music and games. Tickets cost $50 and sales begin at 4:30 p.m.  MontanaRightNow

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Covellite at 215 W. Broadway hosted a free 'Barbie' movie night on Wednesday, offers a Game Night today from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with original games, and will host a live metal showcase Friday featuring local bands Dragged Out+JADE.  KXTL
  • The French Family Band, a group from Nashville that comes from Australia and New Zealand, will perform on March 19 at the Mother Lode Theatre.  The Montana Standard
  • The Belmont Senior Center (615 E. Mercury St.) will host 'A Night in Butte History' with historian Chris Fisk on Friday, March 27, offering locals a unique look into the past.  The Montana Standard
  • Mother Lode Theater is hosting a fresh production of 'Cinderella' by the World Ballet Company with 40 international dancers and 150+ hand-sewn costumes. The performance runs for about 2 hours (including a 20-minute intermission) and welcomes all ages today at the theater.  KXTL
  • Artist Rachel Driscoll's 'Ancestral Memory' works are on display throughout March - visitors can view the paintings and illustrations at Main Stope Gallery, 14 S. Dakota St.  The Montana Standard
  • New York Times bestselling author Kate Quinn is set to speak in a virtual author talk called 'Book Portals and Journeys of Literary Magic' on Thursday, Mar. 12 at the Butte-Silver Bow Public Library + the session will offer local readers insights into her literary journey.  The Montana Standard
  • The Edmonton Police Service’s Pipes and Drums Band will perform in Butte on Monday and Tuesday, March 16—17 as part of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. The band returns to play traditional bagpipe tunes to engage the community.  The Montana Standard

  • Our Lady of the Rockies is the focus of the First Fridays Lecture Series, set for noon on Friday at the Butte-Silver Bow Public Library. Community members are invited to learn more about this local subject.  The Montana Standard
  • Science Mine will host Family Science Night on St. Patrick's Day, offering hands-on science activities for kids in a family-friendly, alcohol-free event—promising a shamrockin' celebration.  The Montana Standard
