BUSINESS NEWS

  • Planet Fitness opened its new gym today at Corner Stone Plaza off Harrison Avenue — the company announced its national headquarters will move to Butte and create eight management jobs.  KXLF

CULTURE NEWS

  • America’s first all-abilities comedy troupe will bring its innovative comedy tour to Butte soon as part of an upcoming documentary film celebrating diverse talent. The performers promise a unique show that is expected to draw local crowds.  The Montana Standard

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Earlier this week, Greg Gianforte met with Montana FFA state officers at the Capitol to officially launch FFA Week, Feb. 21-28. The event highlights ag education across over 100 local chapters and provides students with hands-on experience in farming, ranching and skilled trades + prepares future leaders.  KXTL

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • NorthWestern Energy urges residents to prepare for strong winds and winter weather and advises them to stock up on supplies and charge devices to avoid outages. The utility says to stay indoors during high winds while following its safety tips.  KXTL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A public forum in Butte Wednesday evening allowed officials from Butte-Silver Bow, the Department of Environmental Quality, NorthWestern Energy and Sabey Data Centers to address local concerns about potential data centers affecting energy rates, water use and job opportunities.  MontanaRightNow

HEALTH NEWS

  • Butte public health officials are gearing up to complete the Community Health Needs Assessment using data from 400 residents and health providers to plan for mental health and substance use issues today — officials will begin a three-year implementation plan in 2027 after finalizing the report by late 2026.  MontanaRightNow

SPORTS NEWS

  • Butte is hosting two basketball tournaments this weekend, with games running from Wednesday to Saturday at the Maroon Activities Center and from Friday at the Butte Civic Center; fans can also visit the World Museum of Mining and the Copper King Mansion to explore local history + heritage.  KXTL
