COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The new Center of Hope facility for Butte Rescue Mission will open soon after The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' donation completed the $2.9 million construction project and expanded capacity by 25% to help an estimated 1,750 people. Volunteers & members assisted Tuesday evening on East Platinum Street.  KXLF

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Butte Symphony announced a Children's Concert for local students and families even though school is cancelled that day—Lowell Stuck said children are invited to attend with a parent for a special musical presentation in Butte.  The Montana Standard

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Food prices in Montana have jumped nearly 30% since 2019, and a WalletHub study finds local households now spend 2.15% of their median monthly income on groceries compared with up to 2.6% in Mississippi and 1.5% in states like New Jersey.  KXTL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Montana's 46 public airports will receive $3.33 million in grants + loans from the Montana Aeronautics Board to upgrade infrastructure and enhance safety for fiscal year 2027. The funding helps leverage federal dollars for major construction and repairs statewide.  KXLF
  • Butte residents can visit an open house on Feb. 25 to learn about data centers, as Sabey, NorthWestern & Butte-Silver Bow representatives join the governor’s Energy Task Force to discuss local energy projects.  The Montana Standard

HEALTH NEWS

  • Butte arts community member Frankee Angel experienced a heart attack & stroke after days of unusual fatigue, dizziness, and nausea, and she now urges residents with persistent symptoms to seek prompt care. Cardiology expert Becky Wozniak with Intermountain Health advised establishing a primary care provider for regular check-ups.  KXLF
  • Big Sky on Waterford is hosting a Health Fair on Feb. 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3701 Elizabeth Warren Ave where locals can get health screenings and heart health advice from community wellness organizations.  KXTL

SPORTS NEWS

  • At Ross J- Richardson Memorial Gym, Butte High's Hudson Luedtke scored 26 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 58-43 win over Helena Capital on Thursday evening. The team, now 12-3 overall and 7-3 in the Western AA, will head to Helena Saturday to play the Bengals.  KXTL
