BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Frontier Credit Union finalized its acquisition of First Citizens Bank of Butte — a change that reshapes local banking. The deal was completed recently and is expected to improve service options for customers. MontanaRightNow
- ➤ Sabey Data Centers is asking for a year-long extension on its Feb. 11 deadline to finalize a land sale for a 600-acre data center site at Montana Connections industrial park south of Butte. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A massive Triceratops skull nicknamed (Ozzy) was discovered in Montana and restored in Italy after Ozzy Osbourne passed away last summer; it will be displayed at a gem and mineral show in Tucson. KXTL
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana Resources halted pumping contaminated water from the Berkeley Pit after monitoring identified wall instability and moved pump equipment to a safer area. Further evaluations will determine when operations resume. The Montana Standard
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ BLM revoked grazing permits for APR to run bison on 63,000 acres in north-central Montana, a decision announced in January that safeguards local ranching — keeping public lands used for agriculture. Ranchers welcome the ruling as a win for Montana's heritage. KXTL
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Today, Butte High Bulldogs host wrestling duals at home with girls' and boys' matches at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., following Monday's girls' match in Dillon; later this week, both teams host basketball games on Friday & Saturday at Butte High, the old gym and the Civic Center. KXTL
