- ➤ The community will gather at Stodden Park this Saturday for a Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics Montana as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run. Registration opens at 1:30 p.m. (the plunge starts at 3 p.m.) and donations will fund sports training, competitions, and health screenings. KXTL

- ➤ Butte-Silver Bow Library will host First Fridays on Feb. 6 with local author Regina Torino talking about her book (Amor Fati) in a new lecture series. The Montana Standard
- ➤ The Butte Public Library will host a trivia night with a $5 entry fee and refreshments available for purchase; teams earning the highest scores will win prizes. The Montana Standard
- ➤ Butte’s Mai Wah Society will host its annual Chinese New Year parade on Feb. 21, described as Montana’s shortest, loudest, and sometimes coldest parade — drawing community members together to celebrate local traditions. The Montana Standard

- ➤ Montana mountains remain dangerous despite mild valley weather — game warden Matt Wemple advised outdoor enthusiasts to pack insulated water containers, food, and warm supplies before heading to higher elevations. KXLF
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana residents may see delayed mail postmarks as the USPS updates automated processing that can show a later mailing date, impacting bills, taxes and ballots. The service now recommends customers request manual postmarks at local counters (free of charge) and mail items early, especially in remote areas. KXTL
