- ➤ Butte police are seeking teams to join the Polar Plunge on Jan. 31 at 3 p.m. near the Back Nine restaurant at Stodden Park (this event will raise funds to help cover travel and lodging for Special Olympics participants). KXLF

- ➤ Mother Lode Theater urges locals to buy tickets directly for the Vitamin String Quartet concert on February 9 to avoid Ticketmaster fees; the theater at 316 W. Park Street offers affordable seats + many options remain available. KXTL
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks confirmed that a mule deer buck from Hunting District 419 east of Stanford tested positive for chronic wasting disease — the first case in this district. Hunters are urged to submit samples so wildlife managers can track the disease. KXTL
- ➤ An EPA meeting later this month in Butte may share a new plan for addressing toxic lead cleanup after local watchdogs criticized the high trigger level for action. The Montana Standard
