Butte will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 90-ft Our Lady of the Rockies statue, built by local Bob O’Bill, with a benefit dinner on Saturday, Jan.

17 at the Civic Center featuring live music and a silent auction & a new gift shop on Continental Drive.

WinCo Foods has purchased 9 1/2 acres at the north end of Butte Plaza Mall off Harrison Ave and will start remodeling in April as it plans a new grocery store to replace the former Herberger’s — whose facade was torn down — with an opening scheduled for later in 2026.

Our Lady of the Rockies will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a community event planned to mark four decades of service.
